Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 29, 2026
Professional Insurance Experts, LLC ("PIE," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent insurance agency and broker based in Frisco, Texas. Texas agency license No. 1930218.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit https://proiexp.com (the "Site"), fill out our forms, or work with us on your insurance, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to send us, including through:
- Online insurance applications. These may ask for your name, firm or business name, address, phone, email, business type and operations, years in business, staff counts, revenue or payroll figures, current and prior insurance, loss and claims history, and documents you upload (such as prior applications, loss runs, declarations pages, or résumés of key staff).
- Downloadable PDF applications that you complete and return to us by email, fax, or mail.
- Our contact form, which collects your name, contact details, and your message.
- Email, phone, and fax communications with our staff.
- Information needed for specific coverages, such as driver and vehicle details for commercial auto, payroll and employee class information for workers' compensation, or property details for home insurance.
Some coverages may require more sensitive information, such as driver's license numbers, dates of birth, or information about professional licensing and disciplinary history. Please only send what an application asks for, and do not send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or health information through the general contact form.
Information from others
To quote, place, and service your insurance, we may receive information about you from insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), wholesale brokers, underwriters, prior insurers, motor vehicle record providers, consumer reporting agencies, and public sources, as permitted by law.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to make the Site work, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use it.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure Site traffic and improve our content. These providers may set their own cookies and collect information about your use of the Site.
- Google reCAPTCHA. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google for analysis. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. If you do, some parts of the Site, including our forms, may not work properly.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Prepare quotes and shop your coverage with insurance carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, and underwriters.
- Place, bind (once confirmed in writing), and service your policies, including renewals, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and billing questions.
- Help you report and follow up on claims.
- Respond to your questions and requests.
- Send you service messages, renewal reminders, and, if you have not opted out, occasional news or marketing emails about insurance products that may interest you.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site, and protect against fraud, spam, and misuse.
- Comply with laws, regulations, and requests from regulators.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We share information only as needed to serve you and run our business, including with:
- Insurance carriers, MGAs, wholesale brokers, and underwriters, so they can evaluate your application, provide quotes, issue policies, and handle claims.
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, form and email tools, document storage, agency management software, premium finance companies, and the third-party payment portal. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Certificate holders and other parties you ask us to share information with, such as when we issue a certificate of insurance.
- Regulators, law enforcement, courts, and others when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of PIE, our clients, or others.
- A successor organization if PIE is involved in a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of its business, subject to this Policy.
4. Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Texas Privacy Notice
As an insurance agency, we are subject to the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Texas insurance privacy rules, including the Texas Department of Insurance rules on the privacy of consumer financial and health information (28 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 22). This section serves as our privacy notice to individual consumers and customers who obtain insurance for personal, family, or household purposes.
Nonpublic personal information we collect
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from:
- Applications and other forms you give us (for example, your name, address, contact details, assets, income, and claims history).
- Your transactions with us, our affiliates, insurance companies, or others (for example, policy coverage, premiums, and payment history).
- Consumer reporting agencies and other third parties, as permitted by law (for example, motor vehicle records or insurance scores).
What we disclose
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about current or former customers to anyone, except as permitted or required by law. For example, we may share it with insurance companies to obtain and service your coverage, with service providers who perform work for us under confidentiality agreements, to process claims, to prevent fraud, and to respond to regulators or legal process. Because we only share information in ways the law allows without your consent, you do not need to take any action to opt out.
If we ever change our practices in a way that would allow sharing with nonaffiliated third parties beyond these exceptions, we will give you notice and an opportunity to opt out first, as required by law. We do not disclose personal health information without your authorization, except as permitted by law.
Protecting former customers
If you stop doing business with us, we will continue to treat your information as described in this notice.
Texas Department of Insurance
If you have a question or complaint about your insurance that we cannot resolve, you may contact the Texas Department of Insurance at 1-800-252-3439 or www.tdi.texas.gov.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These include limiting access to staff who need it to serve you, using secure connections (SSL/TLS) on our Site forms, password protection, and requiring our service providers to protect information they handle for us.
No website, email, or electronic storage is 100% secure. Regular email is not encrypted, so please use our online forms for sensitive documents. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by Texas and federal law.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to quote, place, and service your insurance, and as long as required by law, regulation, carrier agreements, or our record-keeping obligations. Insurance records are generally kept for at least five (5) years after the policy expires or the account closes, or longer where the law requires. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or destroy it.
7. Third-Party Links and Payment Portal
The Site contains links to websites we do not own or control, including our social media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, and X), insurance carrier websites, and a third-party online payment portal operated by Input1.
When you make a payment through the payment portal, your payment information is collected and processed by that provider, not by PIE. We do not receive or store your full card or bank account numbers through the portal. Please review the privacy policies and terms of each third-party site you visit, because their practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Information about minors (for example, a household driver listed on an auto or home policy) is collected only from a parent or guardian as part of an insurance application.
9. Your Choices
Marketing emails
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in the email or by emailing contactus@proiexp.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line. Even if you opt out, we will still send messages about your policies, renewals, billing, and other service matters.
Access and correction
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate. Send your request in writing to the contact details below. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law. Where the information came from a carrier or consumer reporting agency, we may refer you to that source for correction.
Cookies
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If we make material changes to how we share nonpublic personal information, we will notify affected customers as required by law.
